Privacy Policy
Retro Digicam is a camera with retro digicam looks. It needs no account. Your photos and clips are made and kept on your iPhone.
Your photos and clips
- Photos and clips are processed on your iPhone only; nothing is uploaded.
- Every shot is saved to your Photos library with “add only” access: Retro Digicam can add pictures but cannot see your library.
- For the memory card, Retro Digicam keeps its own copies (the clean original, the finished picture and small previews) in its private folder on your phone. Deleting the app deletes these copies; the pictures in Photos stay.
- Photos you import are picked with the system photo picker, which gives the app only the photos you choose. Their date and place are kept in the new picture if you leave that option on.
- No generative AI is used. “Add flash” changes light with a person mask computed on the phone; faces are not redrawn.
Permissions
The camera (to take photos and clips), the microphone (only for the sound of clips, asked when you first use clip mode), adding to Photos, and notifications (only to say a roll you shot is developed, and for the trial reminder if you start the free trial). You can turn them off in Settings at any time.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Apple. To unlock Pro on your devices the app uses RevenueCat, Inc., which receives your purchase information and a random app user ID. It does not receive your name, email or photos. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
Analytics
To see which parts of the app work and where people get stuck, the app sends anonymous usage events to Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC): for example that onboarding was finished, a photo or clip was taken, which camera was chosen or the paywall was opened, plus the app version, device model and country. Photos, clips, their dates or places are never sent, and no advertising identifier is used. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
What we don’t do
No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling of data. This website uses no cookies.
Sharing
A picture leaves your phone only when you share it yourself from the share sheet, with the person or app you pick.
Keeping and deleting
You can delete any shot from the memory card; the copy in Photos stays until you delete it in Photos. Deleting the app deletes everything it kept. If you write to support we keep the conversation for up to two years and delete it sooner on request.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
